By Dave Merchant [email protected] Zander Hartsuff is a senior at Chelsea High School and is very active in sports. He does Cross country, Swimming, Diving, Track & Field. His years in sports are all 4 years of cross country, all 3 years of swimming (4 this winter), 2 years of diving (3 this winter), 3 years of track (4 this spring). He has done well in cross country: 56th in D2 states 2018, D2 State Champs 2018, 2019 personal best in the 5k of 16:13. In swimming his stats include: Allstate in 200 free relay -7th at D3 states 2019, Allstate in 400 free relay and -5th at D3 states 2019. In diving stats include: 4th in conference finals 2019. Track & Field stats include: 3200m: 10:20, 1600m: 4:45, 800m: 2:08. He is also a NHS member, 4 year band member and says math is his favorite subject. “I currently hope to go to Grand Valley State University and study statistics, and run on their cross country team,” he said. His parents are Bonnie Hartsuff and Gregg Hartsuff and his siblings are Liam Hartsuff 19, and Bram Hartsuff 14. Advice to younger athletes is strong: “Remember that the only things that you can control as an athlete and as a person are your attitude and your effort,” he said. “If you accomplish your goals, you have the self-rewarding satisfaction of victory, but if you don’t accomplish your goal, you are able to grow in your character.”
