Chelsea soccer player and senior Chris White likes his sport and being able to sail on the water. He plays outside midfield and center striker for the Bulldogs. He has had some big highlights in soccer: “Scoring in district semi-finals my junior year and scoring in district semi-finals my freshman year are some highlights,” White said. His favorite class is Physics (he will be taking AP Physics 2 and AP Physics C Electricity and Magnetism this year.) He has some teachers that standout: “Mr. Swager (he is the teacher that challenges me the most) and Mr. Pedlow (he has a way of keeping everything real).” Jordan Miller (HS Coach) and Tom Greeley (Club Coach) are his favorite coaches. His favorite classes are AP Physics 1, AP Economics and Honors Pre-Calculus. “I like Mountain Biking (I live right next to the Potawatomi Trail and go to the DTE Trail Network all the time),” he said. “My hobbies are Music (I can play the violin, ukulele, guitar and piano) and officiating (I was invited to the State Cup this spring).” His mom is Stephanie White and his dad is Thomas White. His sisters are Caitlin and Emily White and his brother is Nick White. “My family comes to nearly all of my home games,” he said. Future plans for this smart athlete are strong: “I hope to attend either the US Merchant Marine Academy or Great Lakes Maritime Academy in order to obtain a USCG License that will permit me to sail around the world while working as an officer aboard a shipping vessel,” he said. His advice to young players hold true: “Make things happen to yourself as opposed to waiting for someone else to,” he said.
