By Dave Merchant [email protected] Chelsea’s Will Scott has been steadfast in both track and field and cross country. This senior has competed hard for four years. “Our team has been state champions in 2017 and 2018,” Scott said. “Personally, I’ve achieved all state Junior year, and I hope to get it this year as well.” In school he has done well. His favorite class is AP Physics. “I’ve been selected for the Chelsea Excellence award, which I won in 2017,” he said. “I also achieved academic all-state sophomore and junior year.” Eric Swager is his favorite coach. “I’m applying to a lot of in-state schools,” he said. “My top choice is probably the University of Michigan.” He plans to keep running. “I hope to become an engineer after graduating college,” he said. ”Other than that, I’m not too sure. I’ll probably keep running.” His parents are Eric and Julie Scott and his siblings are Anna, Ryan, and Kevin. Advice for young athletes is good: “I think it’s really important for young athletes to establish consistency in their training,” he said. “You can be fast, but if you’re all over the place with workouts and effort then you won’t be consistent, especially at the state level.”
