By Dave Merchant [email protected] Sophomore Parker Olk has some real athletic ability. This Chelsea Bulldog plays many sports and excels at swimming. Parker runs track, swimming, and diving. His swimming events include 200 IM, 100 Fly, and Diving. He has been swimming for 13 years. How did he get interested in swimming? “My Mom teaches and coaches swimming so I was brought up in the sport since I was 3,” Parker said. Big highlights from swimming are not specific. “I can’t think of one event, but have enjoyed competing at lots of levels from age group, USA, to high school,” he said. Some big goals for him are going to states in the 200 IM, 200 and 400 Free Relays. He is going to regionals in diving. “I look forward to competing with the other swimmers in the state who made the cut,” he said. “I am looking to swim my best with the chance of a new PR.” His parents are Jen and Steve Olk. His siblings are Lauren, Molly, and Olivia. Advice to younger athletes is solid for this athlete. “Sports are a great way to learn how to push yourself,” he added.
