Chelsea senior Morgan Kurth is one busy student. She loves her sports and loves her music. She is a member of the Chelsea Girls Cross Country and is Team Captain, Chelsea Track and Field (3200m runner), Vice President of Chelsea Key Club, Member of National Honor Society (inducted 2019), Church Youth Group Member, and Treasurer of Chelsea HS Symphony Orchestra, Orchestral Quartet Member. She is proud of many moments: “Receiving Academic Letter (I have had 3 years of 4.0 GPA),”Morgan said is a huge academic accomplishment. “Elected City Party Chair and House of Representatives Majority Leader at Michigan ALA Girls State, Membership of Bar Association of Michigan ALA Girls State, Multiple Top Dawg CHS Awards, Multiple 1 Ratings at State Solo and Ensemble Festival (Playing cello in quartet),” she said. Her favorite class is Spanish and favorite teachers are Mr. Rodriguez, Mr. Swager, and Mr. Fritzemeier. Her favorite music is 80s music (for listening) and Mozart's quartet arrangements (for playing). Morgan’s hobbies include: golf, ping pong, longboard riding, and watching movies with her brother. Her parents are Sonja and Ron. Her brothers are Aidan and Brennan. She is excited about the future: “I want to attend college and pursue an undergraduate degree in either engineering or political science with a minor in Spanish,” she said. I also intend to go to graduate school.” Her main influences are her Dad, Mom, and older brothers, along with Grandparents. She has good advice for musicians: “Practice your instrument and practice patience,” she said. “Sometimes it is easier to play a piece of music after not playing it for a while, so don’t overdo it with the repetitions!”
