By Dave Merchant [email protected] Chelsea High School marching band junior Nathan Cole is excited for this year. “This year I’m one of the drum majors but I play the trombone during concert season,” Cole said. He had fun last season. “One big highlight last year was when the band went to Ford Field for the State Finals,” he added. “Friday night lights are always great but preforming on Ford Field will always be a special memory.” He said outside of band math with Mr. Mitchell is always great. “I don’t have any plans for after high school but if I do go to college I will definitely get involved with their band program.,” he said. “My parents (Allen and Wendy) both went to Chelsea and were in band as well.” His two brothers Brian and Josh were also in band and graduated from Chelsea in 2012 and 2016. “So it goes without saying that Chelsea band runs in the family, which is part of why being drum major is so significant for me,” he smiled.
