 One last tour for 2020-21 Exhibit 2020 Sculpture Collage Photo courtesy of Crystal Scott, Visual Arts Coordinator From: D&B Strategic Marketing Chelsea Areas Festivals & Events (CAFE) will be hosting a new exhibition of sculptures by sixteen regional artists. This is the largest exhibition in the 12-year history of SculptureWalk Chelsea. It will be on display from June 1, 2021, through May 31, 2022. “Due to the quality of applications and overwhelming community support, we were able to add two new locations,” said Crystal Scott, CAFE’s Visual Arts Coordinator. This year's exhibit features an exciting variety of mediums used in innovative ways. New processes like woodworking, local fabrication, blacksmithing, functional art, and light production will be on display. The new 2021-22 SculptureWalk Chelsea exhibit features sixteen regional artists. The majority of them hail from Michigan. Seven of the Artists are returning from the previous year plus nine artists new to SculptureWalk. This year’s exceptional applications created a challenge for the jury to identify their choices. CAFE received a minigrant from Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, administered by Creative Washtenaw, that will help with the expanded program. As the new exhibit draws near, CAFE will be sharing more details about the artists and the sculptures. But before the current sculptures leave the neighborhood, treat yourself and take one last tour led by Crystal Scott on May 16 at 1 pm.
