Kitty & Company will be conducting a series of short interviews with Chelsea Residents for 52 weeks, bringing to light differing personalities and design styles in our community.  Perhaps you will meet someone new through these weekly interviews or perhaps it will be YOU! Stay tuned and follow us each week – we now introduce you to  Christy Larsen.
What is your current profession? I’ve been a CaBi stylist for 11 years. (Carol Anderson by Invitation).
Your family members: Erik, my husband, and our children, Sam, Katy and Jimmy.
People think of me as: Bold  but really I am honest and sincere.
When did you move to Chelsea and where did you live prior to coming to Chelsea? We moved to Chelsea in the fall of 2006 from Dexter.
What do you love about where you currently live? Our home is comfortable and feels like home.
If you could have a second home anywhere, where would it be? Crystal Lake, Beulah, MI.
What three words describe your style? Simple, cozy, bright.
What are you most inspired by in your design/decor? Whatever makes me feel happy!
When entering your home, how do you want it to feel? Very welcoming.
What is one element or trend in design you do not like? Gray!  Gray!  Gray!
What is the biggest design issue you struggle with? Honestly the biggest issue is not having the budget to do the upgrades I desire.
As you think about the home in which you grew up, what elements did you like and do you think you have incorporated some of them in your own home? Our home was very comfortable and I have tried to create that in my own home.
If you were moving and could only select one item from your home to keep, what would it be and why?  It would be the black mirror hanging in hallway - I love it and it could go anywhere with my decor style
Which room in your home gets the most use? Our  kitchen gets the most  use in our home. It’s where we chat about our daily doings.
Name an item you purchased for your home that you regret buying? A sectional sofa that we didn’t like!
No room is complete without: Color on the walls.
If you are a pet owner, how has that influenced your choices in design, if it has?  Reggie is our only dog, and we want him to have space to be comfortable as well.
I tend to be a minimalist.
If you were given $1,000 to buy a new piece of art, what would it be? A landscape or wilderness scene.
Has any local venue particularly caught your eye - if so why?
Biggby – I love their choice of colors in their design scheme.
What did you do to pass the time during the COVID-19 State shutdown? I watched too much TV,  worked puzzles, and had downtime with my kids.
