By Dave Merchant [email protected] Allen Park’s Lisa Luecke is one sophomore with a lot of talent. Enough talent that she is going to states. This sophomore is running in the state meet at MIS tomorrow. She runs cross country and track and field. Her favorite sports moment came last year. “Winning the Downriver League as a team for cross country and track my freshman year,” Lisa said. “Focus on form, taking deep breaths, and staying relaxed.” She runs about 35 miles a week. Her inspiration is her coaches, team, and above all God and her family. Classic Rock is her favorite jam. Math and science are her two favorite subjects. Mr.Carlini is her favorite teacher and her favorite coaches are Coach Collins and Vockler. “Attending a major University after graduation and competing D1,” she said are her plans. “Cross Country, indoor track, and track.” She is unsure of her major, as she is still deciding between math and science. She has strong goals: “To have a successful career and to keep running,” she said. Her parents are Mark and Laura Luecke, and siblings are Mariel and Amelia Luecke. Her advice to young runners is strong: “Advice for younger athletes that want to succeed: Make sure you stay confident and believe in yourself,” she said. “You can do whatever you put your mind to as long as you work hard and stay dedicated.”
