By Dave Merchant [email protected] The Allen Park Jags have a good volleyball team. Junior Emelia Mihic is one of those reasons for the team playing so successfully. She carries a 3.89 GPA and loves to play volleyball. She plays volleyball for the Allen Park Varsity Volleyball and plays Travel Volleyball for Passion Volleyball Club. “Some of my most memorable moments as a Jag would be the energy/support in the Multiplex from our Jag Jungle/fans during big matches like when we beat a talented Trenton Team my Sophomore year that went to 5 sets, and then recently as a Junior the Jags won the 2019 News Herald Tournament,” Emelia said. “I'm looking forward to seeing what Senior Year has in store for the Jags.” Her favorite teachers are Mr. Danosky, Mr. Hoover and Mr. Whitlow. Chris Bozman and Kelsey Bulloch are her favorite coaches. She likes Anatomy, Biology and AP Language. “Not sure on the college I plan to attend just yet, but I like Grand Valley State University and Michigan State University,” she said. “Undergrad I plan on going Pre-Med, then applying to Medical School with the ultimate end game life-long dream of becoming a Pediatrician someday.” She has many hobbies. “I enjoy being involved at school where I'm active in Student Council and the Link Crew. Also, I enjoy shopping, dancing, laughing, participating in Jag Spirit Weeks, and of course playing volleyball for school/travel and spending time with my family & friends,” she added. Her parents are John Mihuc (Father), Alyssa Postell (Mother) & Mark Postell (Step-Father). Siblings include Ean Mihuc (Brother), Isabella Mihuc (Sister), Zach Postell (Brother), and Joshua Postell (Brother). Her advice to younger players is strong. “I would say to be a leader, be loud and bring energy every time you step foot on that court,” she said. “Four years goes SUPER fast so accept the corrections, be coachable, practice hard and most importantly have FUN!”
