Dexter has a very popular sport program for both girls and boys. Registration begins for Dexter Little League on January 26th.
Dexter Little League President Samantha Brandt is excited about this year. She has been on the board and has had her daughter and son play in the league.
“We have almost 500 athletes who participate,” Brandt said. “This year the Creekside Quad Field is ready. There is a lot of excitement about that.”
T-Ball is from ages 5-6. Machine pitch is 7-8, Minors is 9-10 and Majors is 11-12.
Dexter has had some great teams over the years. Some have gone on to be in the top four teams in the State of Michigan.
Softball and baseball are for all ages.
“We have had more numbers in baseball than softball,” she said. “Everyone is encouraged and welcome.”
She wanted to make sure that everyone knows that both boys and girls can join. It doesn’t have to be that they join from T-Ball. They can begin at any age. In fact, they are very welcome to do so.
They also have an Adult Challenger League for young adults and seniors.
Evaluation is March 7 at Dexter High School.
